Prometheus Origins
There’s a lot more to the name “Prometheus” aside from being a cool movie about aliens directed by Ridley Scott. It actually comes from a story in Greek mythology!
When the world began, there were two factions of beings: the Gods and the Titans. These two groups were constantly at war with each other to gain control of Earth. The Gods, who were slowly winning dominion over earth, weren’t exactly nice to the humans, and we were left to live in darkness and ignorance. One Titan, Prometheus, decided to help the humans at great risk to himself...
Prometheus went to the top of Mount Olympus where the Gods lived, and he stole “fire” from the Gods, which they had kept all to themselves until now. Prometheus then gifted this mystical fire of Olympus to the humans. This fire, a symbol of innovation, knowledge, and insight, helped usher humans into a golden age of prosperity.
